Cute Party Animal Gift Card

IMG_5715My aunt in Denmark gave me a gift card she had made and I thought it was awesome and had to make a similar one with Stamping’ Up! of course! I have added all the measurements for this card in this post too! I like how the sentiment on the front looks like a cloud and the Better Together birthday greetings goes so well with the Party Animal Designer Series Paper.

I used following supplies: (I know huge list, but some of it is retiring so check it out!)

A how to guide is below these pictures..

This is how I did it:
1) Glue DSP on the card base 2) Fold the 12 in on the score lines. You want it folded like if you wanted it pop out of a box.
3) Add DSP to pocket piece and use an oval framelit to make the “incut”. I use a magnetic plate for this on the big shot, but you can also use tape to keep die in place. 4) Add snail adhesive to the edge of three sides of the pocket and stick it on the last bit of the folded piece. Make sure you do not cover the whole thing in glue or glue the opening. You want to make sure you can put something in the pocket. 5) Optional: stamp 2 small balloons just above the pocket in So Saffron.
6) Stamp the “Wishing you happiness on your special day” and party hat in Smoky Slate on the middle piece. To be honest I used the Stampamajig to make sure the hat was stamped in the right place.
7) Glue on the front DSP piece. I also trimmed the sides a bit because I didn’t fold it that well. I cut off whatever could be seen from the front when folded. 8) Stamp “Happy Birthday” in Smoky Slate on Sending Love Glassine sheet (make sure it’s dry) and cut out with oval Stitched framelit
9) On a piece of scrap Whisper White stamp 3 small balloons in So Saffron, 2 small balloons in Pear Pizzazz, 1 big balloon in So Saffron, Soft Sky and Blushing Bride. On the big balloons I stamped the dotted shading in same colours. Use punch to punch out balloons.
10) Position where you want the sentiment and glue on with a tiny bit of snail adhesive at the edges. Note too much adhesive might be visible from front as it’s see through. 11) Lay out balloons as you want them. The small balloons I positioned at the back and glued on with tombow glue. The big balloons I positioned so the overlay the sentiment a little. I put these on with dimensionals.
12) Fold and tie on the ribbon. Position where you want the ribbon. I wanted it to tie in the balloons, so pretty much in the middle. Then glue it, with ribbon tied, on to the card base. You can now untie and add gift card.
13) Finito!

If you wanted to you could make the card base into a card too. You would then need to cut the Whisper White card base 10 x 5 in and score it at 5 in. Or you can leave out the stamping in the middle and write a greeting there. Or write greeting on the back! So many options!

Card is from the 25th April 2017.

April Colour Challenge

Colour challenge

Every month my team leader gives us a challenge which we can participate in. We then make a card or a project and post it to inspire each other. April’s challenge was a colour challenge with the above colours. other requirements were using current stampin up products. We were allowed to add Whisper White, Black, gold, silver and copper. I don’t have Tangerine Tango, so I used a shade from the Calypso Coral ombre ink pad instead.

I came up with this cardIMG_5685

I think this is a fun and vibrant card. I usually like working with subtle colours, so I felt like I had to think outside of the “box”.

I used following stuff to make this card:

I don’t think I could have made this card without the stampamajig! This is how I made the card:
1) I stamped the turquoise flowers first on the piece of Whisper White for the front of the card, by using the stampamajig I was able to line the petals up perfectly. I then stamped the orange flowers by using the middle colour from the Calypso Coral ombre ink pad using the stampamajig again. last I stamped three flowers with Daffodil Delight.
2) Glue the front on to the Tempting Turquoise cardstock, and then glue it on to the front of the card.
3) Cut out two leaves with die from Stylish Stems on scrap Whisper White.
4) I dip the leaves on the versamark ink pad and then dip in copper embossing powder, tap of excess powder straight in the little jar.
5) Use the emboss buddy to run over the piece of scrap Whisper White for sentiment. Stamp the sentiment from Beautiful You stamp set with versamark. Put a piece of notepad paper underneath and pour some copper powder over the stamped sentiment. Gently tap of excess powder on to piece of notepad paper and use the notepad paper to pour powder back into the little jar.
6) Use heating tool to melt embossing powder. Be careful can be a bit warm for the fingers and don’t hold the heating tool to close you, some of the powder risks getting blown off. I heated the cardstock with sentiment from bottom then I avoided blowing off powder.
7) After cooling down I cut out sentiment with an oval stitched die.
8) I glued leaved on to sentiment
9) Use dimensionals to stick sentiment on to the front of card.
10) Voila! Done

I would say this is for advanced beginners. It can be fiddly, but when you get the hang of the embossing and stampamajig it’s much easier! If you don’t have a stampamajig, and like me you can’t stamp anything in a straight line, then you can just stamp the flowers on scrap paper, cut them out and glue them on the front!

Special reason (retiring) thank you card

I am on a Blushing bride and Smokey slate roll, so here’s another one!
This time I added a bit of glimmer paper too. Blushing bride glimmer paper and special reason bundle are both retiring the 31st May 2017 or until stock lasts. Special reason bundle is one of my favourite retiring items and I will be using it in the future as well!

I have sent this card to my Aunt in Alaska who I visited on holiday in the States in February/March.

For this card I used following Stampin’ Up! products:

This card is not the easiest card to assemble because you want the three squares lined up perfectly beneath each other. What I did was laying them out first as where I wanted them to be. I then glue top and bottom square and align them so the border to the two card edges are lined up with same distance. I then glue the middle piece and make sure it has same distance to the top and bottom squares and is lining up with the edge of the card as well. It is a bit fiddly.
Putting the sentiment on with dimensional stickers is easy. The flower I just glued on, and I used tombow glue, to glue the outline of flower to glimmer paper. Just saying because some has experienced issues sticking stuff to glimmer paper.

Card is from 30th March 2017.

Try the new Shop!

Stampin Up announced just before Easter which items will be retiring from 2016-2017 Annual catalogue and 2017 Spring/Summer catalogue.

Check the list now to see if there are anything you must have before they are sold out or discontinued from 31st May 2017! And while you are doing that check out my new shop too! I took a huge jump and set up a shop with Stampin Up. Do let me know if you need any help.

I am very sad about some of the items that will be discontinued and to honour them I will in the next couple of weeks be making a few posts featuring my favourite retiring stamp sets, inks and dies!

Happy Easter Mash-Up card

Poor bunny – chicks playing tricks on him!

With Easter coming just around the corner I decided to make a quick card. This card is built up by many stamp sets as I don’t have any specific Easter stamp sets – not that it is essential!

Take a look at the item list for this card:

No special technique for this card. Just lots of stamping and fun.

Card is from the 9th April 2017.

Beautiful you thank you card

Yay, my first post on my new blog! Let’s celebrate with a beautiful thank you card.

Blushing bride and Smoky slate are my favourite colour combination at the moment. Together they look delicate and elegant and for that reason I made an easy, simple, light card.

Let’s put on Abba with Danicing Queen!

I like the Beautiful you stamp set. There are so many options for every season of the year. Mostly for girly cards though but there are a lot of girls out there too!

For this card I used following Stamping’ Up! products:

I love the technique for the dress. It’s very easy. The stamp is stamped twice, once on the card and once on Falling in love dsp, then fuzzy cut out dress with hair and and in one piece and glued it on the stamped image on the whisper white. First time I saw this technique was by Brandy and it blew me away.
I thought by putting on the embellishment it would look like a ball, making the card more lively. Makes it look like the lady is dancing with the ball. Maybe she’s a gymnast/dancer or just really happy it is spring?! 🙂
Card is from 27th March.
