Flower shop card

Flower Shop card by Bobcrafts by Stampin UpHello!

I’m in love with the Flower Shop stamp set from Stampin Up, which has been around for some time and proves over and over to be very versatile!

Today I made a card for a colleague who is leaving soon. I like to give the card a few days in advance and not exactly on the last day. I think it’s just nice catching them alone, having a chat, give the card and they can enjoy it until they leave.

This card is very fun to make and there is no pressure of getting everything right. My original idea was layering the coloured flowers straight on top of the black and white ones, but I thought it looked kind of cool letting it peak through.

Flower Shop Card by BobcraftsI coloured the flowers with watercolour pencils and a blender pen. My colouring is far from perfect, but it’s all about having fun! I used the Pansy Punch to punch the flowers out very quick. You can also cut them out with scissors.

The sentiment I white heat embossed on black paper to make it stand out and with all those flowers I thought it needed some green and I decided to go with a green cardbase. I used a white gel pen just to add some white to the center of the flowers, it’s not necessary to do. I also covered the flowers in glitter with a wink of stella, unfortunately this doesn’t show on any of the photos 😦

I put the coloured flowers on with dimensionals and I used scissors to cut the overhanging flower bits off with. Later I decided to add some glossy accent to the center of the flowers and it worked very well.

I’m very happy with the turn out of this card and I will be making more of it for other occasions. ❤ In Fact here a couple of similar cards I made. All ready to get a sentiment attached.

Made with Love Baby Girl Card

IMG_5961

Hello,

One of my dearest friends recently gave birth to a beautiful baby girl and I wanted to send her a card to congratulate.

Unfortunately, I find it difficult making baby cards. I always feel I never get them as cute or pretty as I want them to be, so this card took me a long time to make.

To make things more complicated I wanted to try new colour blending techniques. This is my first time using blending tools. I have seen many crafters using blending tools and make it look so easy. I didn’t find it easy at all, but it was a lot of fun! I used a die from the So Detailed framelits to cut out a stencil. The pink and purple was easy to blend, but i had difficulties getting an even blend with the green. I’m sure I just need a lot more practise! But overall I am very pleased with my background, which I also spitzed with some copper glitter. It’s difficult to see in any of the photos but it has a suttle copper shine to it.
I love the sentiment, it says: “ba-by (n) a little bit of heaven sent down to earth”. It’s so adorable!

I coloured the baby body suit straight forward with promarkers and didn’t worry much about shading or anything (as you can see I used the wrong type of ink for alcohol markers. I put the correct type of ink under supplies!). I just wanted to give it some colour to stand out from the background. I thought the safety pin was fun and added an extra element to the card.

Here is the final result after I decided to add some glassy accent to the body suit to finish it off with. All in all, I am very happy with the card. It’s very different from what I have previous made and I hope my friend likes it too!

Flower Shop birthday card

I had sooo much fun making this card. I absolutely love the new in colours from Stampin’ Up!. Here I used Fresh Fig, Lemon Lime Twist and a dash of copper embossing powder!

Flower Shop Birthday card

I used following items:

I used a mix of the dots and the splats from the Timeless Textures stamp set to make the background with Lemon Lime Twist. I used the Versamark ink pad to “glue” around the edge of the background whisper white piece, then copper embossing powder and heating eat. The embossing buddy is used prior to make sure the embossing powder only sticks where versamark is applied.
Flowers are stamped on scrap Whisper white with Fresh Fig, then Punched out, added gems and stuck on with dimensionals.

The results is a quick and easy awesome birthday card. I love doing embossing, it just adds that little bit extra to your card!

Card is from the 25th June 2017.

Fun surfing pineapple card

I recently used the Pop of Paradise stamp set by Stampin’ Up! to make some flamingo cards. The stamp set is really great and I decided to use it for some quick and easy thank you cards.

Pop of Paradise by Stampin' Up!

For these fun cards I used following items:

I did straight forward stamping on scrap whisper white and then I fussy cut out the leaves and the copper embossed pineapples with scissors.
I did the copper embossing same way as with the flamingo cards (please click here to see).

I had lots of fun making these simple cards and will definitely be making a few more – thank you cards are always very handy to have at hand.

After started making my own cards, I realise how many occasions you can give a card for and I give many more cards now than I used to when I didn’t craft! My friends and family love getting cards from me, and I feel honoured when they let me know they kept the card. Something I didn’t expect. 🙂

Cards are from the 8th June 2017.

A whole lot of lovely butterfly cards!

I recently received the watercolor butterfly stamp set, and I love working with it. It’s very easy to stamp beautiful and unique butterflies. In this post I stick to a few colours and copper embossing to keep it simple but there are endless possibilities with this stamp set.

Watercolor Wings

Card made for a family member

For the stripey card I used following:

Watercolor wings

Birthday card to my Danish Grandmother

For the dotey card I used:

When embossing I find it much easier to use the embossing buddy to make sure the embossing powder only sticks where you want it. I like the embossing on the designer paper it gives it a feel of being like Stampin’ up!’s new specialty designer paper, if you haven’t seen it check it out here, here and here. It has some embossing on it and is slightly thicker than normal designer paper. 🙂
I used scissors to cut the butterflies out with and stuck them on with glue dots. The sentiment i stuck on with dimentionals to make it pop out.

Cards are from the 7th of June 2017.

Flamingos and new Stampin’ Up! 2017-2019 in colours!

Pop of Paradise Pop of Paradise

Apologies for not having posted in a while. Life has been very busy. Planing a wedding (yes! my wedding! or ours.. but mine too!) and finishing off doing up a house (to sell).

In the meantime Stampin’ Up has launched their new catalogue, yay! PDF is available here or under the catalogue tab. Personally, I love the new catalogue and got a huge wish list!

I love the new in colours (please see photo display at bottom of the post!) and had a quick play with them and the new stamp set Pop of Paradise which has flamingos of course. Flamingos are very popular at the moment. Copper has been popular in interior decorating for a long time in Britain and Scandinavia and has finally found its way into crafting. Copper embossing is the way to go.

I made the two cards by using following items:

I did the stamping on scrap whisper white card stock and cut out leaves, flamingo and banner with scissors. The watercolour background is very easy to make, just pick up colour from ink pad with aqua painter and apply to watercolour paper with lots of water. I like adding drops of colour to the wet paper for a splash of extra colour. Takes a bit of time to dry or you can cheat and gently dry it with heating gun.

If you haven’t seen the new colours please take a look at them right here 🙂 From left to right: Tranquil Tide, Lemon Lime Twist, Powder Pink, Berry Burst and Fresh Fig.
Also if you havent seen; Helen Read has made a list of awesome colour combinations for the new in colours on Pinterest.
